Taiwan Cafe is a nice place that is in a small strip mall. The parking can be scarce during peak lunch hours as it shares the mall with Paradise Biriyani, All-Star Market, Laundromat, Pure Water, etc. The cafe is modern and stylish. Simple Asian decor adorns the walls with picturistic paintings. The service was friendly. I was greeted promptly as I entered the cafe. My friend and I split a takeout order of their appetizer of fried pork Intestines. Wow, they did a fantastic job. The dish was clean, with a crispy outside, and juicy and tender innards. They included a small package of Chinese 5-spice taped to the outside of the box. I would come back again to get this again and definitely would come back to try their other dishes. Congrats on being around since 2011!

Delicious food very tasty similar to the traditional Taiwanese dishes (taste like home cooked Taiwanese food) I strongly recommend this restaurant for people who are interested in trying out Taiwanese cuisine. Friendly service and waiters pay closer attention to refill hot tea for us. I appreciate that there is Taiwanese restaurant around BayArea and also Taiwan people are very friendly. Delicious food and nice people - double bonus:)

We came here for about 10 people in our group and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience here! I have never tried Taiwanese food and I have to say I really liked the food here. We came around 1PM on Saturday and it was almost all packed by the time we came. Reservations were already made in advance. B/c we had so many people, we were able to try 10+ dishes. I feel like this is the way to go! Hakka Tofu: 5/5 - first time trying this. It's basically fried tofu, so it's slightly hard on the outside but soft on the inside, very hot temperature wise which I really liked b/c that means it's fresh! Sauce is good too that you dip it in Shrimp Fried Rice: 5/5 - typically shrimp fried rice, meaning it was delicious Black Pepper Beef: 4.5/5 - I don't love beef in general but this was very tasty! It came sizzling yummy Vegetable Wrapped in Tofu Skin: 4.5/5 - the hubs loved this one, pretty tasty but not as flavorful as the other items, it's good for those of you who don't like spicy or overwhelmingly flavorful things Kung Pao Chicken: 4.5/5 - your typical kung pao chicken Black Bean Fish Fillet: 4.5/5 - pretty good! I thought the sauce was going to be the jjangmyun sauce but it's a very light sauce Pork Chop Over Rice: 4/5 - good for people who love pork and rice Some kind of noodle dish: 5/5 - sorry not sure what this was but it was mostly noodles in some kind of black sauce Chinese squash: 4/5 - not sure of what the exact name is but the people should know when you say Chinese squash Shaved ice with sweet starchy noodles: 4/5 - very light and flavorful, not too sweet The decorations are cute b/c it's like you are eating outside of a building - check it out by looking up or on the walls. Service was decent, food came out fairly fast. Private lot in front - there were a lot of spots if you drive around

Taiwan Cafe has pretty authentic Taiwanese food and dishes that you can't find at other Taiwanese restaurants. I really liked the pork hock and fried tofu with salted egg yolks. Veggies were also not over seasoned and tasted fresh. I was not a fan of the sticky rice with shrimp though as it was too sweet (dishes tend to be on the sweeter side). Overall I liked the food and would recommend!

Now that Taiwan Cafe in Pleasanton is closed. We have to travel to Milpitas to its sister store. It's all in the family and the matriarch retired. The menu is the same with all the Taiwanese classics. Oyster pancake Ba wan Noodle soups Popcorn chicken Three cups chicken Located in a strip mall on Abel Street. The service is good. Plenty of parking in the shopping center lot.

On social media, I saw someone recommend this place as "somewhere to go if you're craving Taiwanese food". Ding, ding, ding! I was very curious to check out this place. We arrived around 11:30 am on Sunday, just half an hour after they opened at 11 am, a couple of tables were already occupied. We were immediately seated and served some hot tea. The menu is extensive, with lots of options to choose from. Here's what we ordered: *Taiwanese Style Oyster Pan Fry: Oyster Pancake is something we always order when we're having Taiwanese food--it's one of the most classic Taiwanese street foods. However, not every restaurant executes it perfectly. But I have to say, this is by far the best Oyster Pancake I've ever had in the bay. Crispy on the outside (especially the edges of the pancake) with umami flavor from the oyster. We really enjoyed the sauce coated on the pancake as well. 10/10! *Fried Crispy Chicken: Another dish we always crave. It's bite-sized popcorn chicken with deep-fried basil. It's hot and fresh, 100% made after ordering. It would be a great choice if they had some kind of spicy powder we could sprinkle on top. *House Special Mi Tai Mu: We ordered this because we thought we hadn't tried Mi Tai Mu before. (** Afterward, we realized this is similar to silver needle noodle, which is pretty common in Asia, made with rice flour). It's stir-fried with bean sprouts, green onions, and some sliced pork. The noodle absorbs all the flavors. I could easily finish the whole dish myself. *Pork Chow Mein: This is pretty similar to the Mi Tai Mu, in terms of flavor and ingredients. The only difference is this is with yellow noodles. Overall, I will definitely come back and check out the other dishes next time. I also noticed they're selling meat dumplings and pickles. Not sure if it's a weekend thing, but check it out if you see it - it's just next to the counter. Also, by the time we left at 12:30 pm, it was already full, so best to come here early.
